Grain Matching?

Is there a clever [don't forget it's a Discreet product] way of matching grain from a source clip to an effected result?

There are a number of ways ... but my favourite is
1. load the clip, the clip to match to and a dummy split screen matte into regrain
2. Select a stock - and you may need to play with the stock you select - as this will effect grain profile.
3. turn off all but one channel - so your only looking at say the red channel. now try and match the amount and size of just the red channel,
4. repeat for green and then blue - one colour at a time.

the resulting grain will match fairly convincingly - if not try a different film stock, once you get used to them you can guess which will work best. Changing film stocks in the pop up menu will dramatically effect the result.

There is an automatic profile tool in regrain - but I much prefer this quick and fast method.
