Any one with any help for a unix newby. I installed V8 on my Octane 2 upgrading from 7.7. I did not wipe the drive clean so there are still clips stored from 7.7 that are inaccessable from V8. How can I delete them.

I'd really appreciate the help
Thanks

Hardy

If you still have 7.7 on your system, log into it then remove from there, otherwise you will have to wipe and re-make your framestore.

Paul:

Thanks for your quick response.
I should of mentioned that my license for 7.7 expired and won't let me log in. What I have tried to do is request a temp license from discreet. No other way in unix to access the files?

thanks

Hi,

Run flame -vir (-v initialise the framestore volume - all data will be deleted from the partition for all projects; -i remove all clips from the project; -r initialise the desktop)

i'm sure he knows this but this would destroy all!
i think he wants to access his old clips from v7...

There is also a way to delete inaccessable data with cmtool from io utilities. but use it with care!!!

hello

you can access your framestore on a pc with X-stoner. you can Ask for a evaluation license at http://www.xstoner.com or http://www.max-t.com/html/products/xstoner.html.

I'm not sure if you are able to delete files, you can send a email to this adress for support: support@light.fr

Good luck
