I noticed on discreet's site that in the "reccomended system" setup, they specify XP over 2k.

Then I noticed that some other software I was looking into also hinted that it would work better under XP than 2k.

Does anyone have any practical experience, or can tell me how much of a performance difference there is between the two operating systems with Combustion?

AFAIK, the perfs are equals.
XP is prefered over 2K because it's a younger O.S. that will remain updated longer than 2K. For People who want to create a dedicated PC for Combustion, Discreet prefer that people install a durable OS, I think.
XP is mentionned because a lot of people may think that Combustion is not compatible with XP.
