Hi All...
Over at the Creative COW Combustion Tutorials Site, there is a new example of Combustion real-life use... Last month, as an example for the Danish Parliament (called the "Folketinget") I created a 30 second motion graphics video opening. The clip combines shots of the meeting room, logos and images, all with music from Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.†The entire project was created using Combustion v3.0.2 on an XP PC with dual 2,8 Ghz and 1GB RAM. Available for download are two video clips: a Quicktime version (file size 912kb,) and an AVI version (file size 810kb,) as well as some screen shots of Combustion and the CWS itself. By the way, THANKS go out to Lee Rod Roderick for his Flag-Waving Help! (see Lee's HOT new "Combustion Training DVDs" at his website: www.runawaytraining.com )
Check out the COW stuff here: http://www.creativecow.net/show.php?forumid=14&page=/articles/pfeiffer_jack/parliament/index.html or see the WHOLE List of Free Combustion Tuts here: http://www.creativecow.net/show.php?forumid=14&page=/articles/combustion.html
Also, there's Two more Free Combustion Tutorials from Luke Harris, a Combustion & 3ds max user in Ireland and member of the Young Irish Film Makers...
1) Combustion - 3ds max Tutorial: "Creating Realistic Fire without plugins" -- a free tutorial on his colleges website: It shows you use combustion to alter the look of max's particles. The tut starts with standard 3ds max particles, and then focusses mainly on combustion. It covers advanced colour correction and other operators. See the Tutorial here: http://student.dcu.ie/~harrisl3/yifm/firetut.html
See the finished flamses as a GIF here: http://student.dcu.ie/~harrisl3/yifm/IMAGES/ANIMCOMP.GIF
2) This tutorial goes through how Luke used Combustion to ceate a mist effect for an opening shot for the Young Irish Film Makers film: " The Children. " http://www.yifm.com/yifm/filmmakingtips_1.html
Thanks to Luke for making these available...
Enjoy!
