Any one out there get shake and Kona2 to play nice?
If so, any tips, or Kona setup templates that the comunity could use?
We are setting up a shake system on a G5 and we need to out put video to a client broadcast monitor.
If not Kona, then what? We have not yet purchased, but we have 1 kona2 in the facility already, so it would be nice to stay in the Aja club.
Any info would be great, but soon please as we need to move forward.
Thanx.

Mark!

Hi,

I'd recommend a Blackmagic Decklink SD-card. They are being recognized by Shake immediately (once you set it to use an additional monitor..) and show a good, uncompressed picure of what you are doing. As far as I know Kona and Aja are converting to DV, am I right? This shows a lower chroma resolution on a broadcast-monitor. We tried a ProMax "DA-Max" and a cheaper Miranda-SDI-DV-converter, the result was much worse than the Decklink. We use the Decklink to capture from and play out to D-Beta as well (even the "smallest" Card has RS422 and embedded audio)
And... no .. I dont get paid to write this, I was just amazed by the above facts when I tested it...
