hi guys
Anbody knows any links which give me info abt history or evolution of 3D studio max, from 3d studio to current 3D studio Max 8. I need a detailed informtion, like what features where added in each versions to enhance productivity. and Need some info abt some major works done using the 3ds max. :?:
Its for class research, i tried searching net with google, but didn't got enough info :? so if anybody knows some stuff abt it, plz help me out!!!

hi,
i started with 3d studio 1, (which was hardly usable, as it didnt have any feature for cutting objects - besides deleting triangles)
i dont have anything from that time, but i still got a complete package of 3dstudio3 (including dongle;-))
here is some info from the reference manual ...

3D Studio requires at a minimum the following equipment:
An IBM®, COMPAQ® or 100-percent compatible personal computer with an 80386™, 80486™, or Pentium™ microprocessor
A minimum of eight megabytes (MB) of RAM
A 1.2-MB or 1.44-MB floppy disk drive
A Microsoft®-compatible mouse
A display board and monitor capable ofdisplaying 256 calors at a minimum screen resolution of 640x480.
A hard disk drive with a minimum of 20 MB free disk space
Al180386-based computers requirea math coprocessor, which can be an Intel® 80387™ or an Intel-compatible coprocessor such as a Cyrix D87. A1180486SX-, 80486SL-, and 80486SLC-based computers must also have a math coprocessor, or be otherwise upgraded to be equiva- lent to an Intel80486DX system. The Weitek 3167 and 4167 matJi coprocessors are not supported in Release 3.
