Worldwide FX Invests in eyeon Rotationâ„¢

Sofia, Bulgaria – July 24, 2007 – Worldwide FX, a European leader in visual effects for feature films, television and video games, added an extensive Rotation™ division to their existing Fusion pipeline.

Founded by Scott Coulter in 2001, Worldwide FX has a long list of credits, including The Wicker Man and Home Of The Brave, and is currently working on the upcoming release of The Gene Generation, 88 Minutes, and Day Of The Dead. Known for stunning visual effects, WWFX is often tightly associated with the actual production to provide on-site references and counselling. This close client relationship has significantly increased WWFX’s broadcast, film and game cinematic market reach. In a short period, this Fusion house has grown from five employees to over one hundred, and is now one of the largest post production companies in Europe.

“The flexibility of Rotation is just perfect; there is always more than one path to a solution for a given task, and we find it extremely easy to use. Rotation gives us the ability to do complex rotoscoping, to extract mattes very fast, leaving
our 45 Fusion licenses free for finessing our shots. Its ability to work in floating color space, to rotoscope motion blur properly is invaluable for us. It definitely shows that Rotation is a tool written by artists for artist. Its ability to handle large projects in the various formats we work with - 2K, 4K, HD - is crucial for us,
and Rotation makes very efficient use of the large computer resources we have.”
Stefan Tchakarov, Studio Supervisor of Worldwide FX

eyeon Rotation was announced at NAB this year to a very large crowd, receiving considerable media and industry responses. Based on Fusion and targeted as an all-in-one suite for rotoscoping, keying, paint and retouching needs, Rotation’s toolset is production proven. Designed to collaborate with Fusion in the film and gaming pipeline, Rotation operates in a node-based workflow with 32-bit float capabilities that take advantage of OpenGL acceleration. Rotation and Fusion save to the same file format and are able to share a bins system and access the highly-integrated scripting functions of each respective program.

“Rotation is for the film industry. We have responded to our studios by packaging a precise set of tools for rotoscoping, clean plate fixing and the preparation of shots. The team at eyeon delivered a product that is based on Fusion’s maturity. Facilities like Worldwide FX benefit from incorporating a product like Rotation into their Fusion pipeline because it simply doubles their creative output at a fraction of the cost.”
