Technicolor, a worldwide provider of services to the entertainment industry, has formed a new and exciting Joint Venture Technicolor (Beijing) Visual Technology Co. Ltd. in Beijing, China. This new facility is providing high-end Visual Effects and post-production services to both the local feature film market in China and also to clients throughout Asia.

We currently have opportunities in our company for qualified, motivated artists who are willing to relocate to Beijing and join us in this amazing adventure.

1) Animators - Positions open for various levels of experience
The Animator is responsible for the supervision of the 3D animation team. Reporting to the VFX Supervisor and in collaboration with the Lead Compositor, the lead will define the process and direction of all 3D elements required in creating the visual effects for feature film projects.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer developing budgets and schedules.
• Supervise the 3D team through all aspects of production, from modeling and animation, through to lighting and rendering.
• Support the team of 3D animators through mentoring and education.
• Determine the most efficient and effective way to achieve the required effects.
• Solve Junior Animators problems and issues, both creative and technical.
• Work with the VFX Developer and TD's to develop new processes to develop new techniques and streamline the creation of the required effects.

Required Skills / Experience:
•Demo reel demonstrating the firm understanding and thorough knowledge of feature film CG effects.
• 5+ years of experience in a feature film production environment.
• Maya and Mental Ray experience preferred, but experience with other software is OK.
• Ability to work well in a team environment with prior team leadership experience.
• Problem solving ability to predict and solve any problems that arise with the assigned tasks.
• Experience working with Directors and Clients.
• Communication skills that go above and beyond the call of duty!
• Able to manage time with due consideration to the budget and production schedule.

Desired Skills:
• Thorough understanding of the VFX process including on-set and other aspects of post-production.
• Drawing and story boarding skills a plus.
• Mandarin and English speaking definitely and asset, but not required.
• Patience, patience, patience.
• Walk, talk and chew gum . . . all at the same time.

2) Compositors - Positions open for various levels of experience
Summary:
Reporting to the Lead Compositor the Compositor is responsible for
seamlessly integrating elements from various sources including live-action
plates and CG elements into a final photo realistic shot. Works within a
very collaborative team environment that encourages open communication and
knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate and collaborate with the Lead Compositor and other members of the VFX team.
• Blue/green screen matte extraction.
• Integrate CG and live action elements seamlessly with background plate.
• Enhancing, extending and duplicating elements in a photo-realistic manner.
• Foresee, troubleshoot and communicate potential problems.
• Seek out new techniques and processes which help to increase efficiency and enhance the overall look of a shot.
• Some tracking and rotoscoping duties as required.

Required Skills / Experience:
• Junior: 2-3 years experience, preferably on feature films.
• Intermediate: 3-5 years experience, preferably on feature films.
• Senior: 5+ years experience, preferably on feature films.
• An eye for composition, lighting and colour with respect to photo-realistic integration.
• Ability to work in a collaborative Team environment.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Highly detail oriented.
• Demonstrated ability working with Shake, Nuke and/or Combustion.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to take and apply direction.
• Effective individual time management skills with respect to sensitive deadlines.

Desired Skills:
• Mandarin and English speaking definitely and asset, but not required.
• Fine Arts and or photography background a plus.
• Willing to relocate.
• Runs with scissors. (Senior positions require running with Shears!)
