SENIOR LIGHTING TD
Are you interested in working for a growing, independent, award winning studio? The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, have the ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive under pressure of tight production deadlines. They must possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Responsible for final 3D scene assembly incorporating the illumination and rendering of all 3D elements required to complete shots, as well as compositing, to ensure quality and coherency of the elements generated
• Work closely with the Lead Lighting TD, and compositors to finish selected shots so that computer generated elements are seamlessly integrated with live-action plates

THIS IS WHAT WE REQUIRE:

• At least 4 years experience with a high-level film lighting and rendering pipeline (preferably Maya based)
• Have a full understanding of the shader structure (not at scripting level), arbitrary outputs, and PTC systems
• Have a good knowledge of the physics of lights and materials
• Thorough knowledge of RenderMan based rendering software
• Good Generalist background
• Fully understands an “iteration intensive” shot pipeline
• Desire to learn from others and to take on increasingly challenging shots
• Traditional skills as a strong artistic eye for cinematography, composition, photography and high-resolution detail, as well as a good understanding of the principles of digital film compositing such as multi-pass rendering for composite-based control
• Some scripting ability in MEL and python is an advantage
