The Senior Matchmove Artist must have a professional demo reel that shows extensive ability to solve complex plate tracking and virtual camera situations. Some breakdown of the elements you contributed to the final shots is necessary. He/she must be able to actively consult with Supervisors and artists in order to deliver viable virtual cameras to the 3D pipeline. Excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, team player, and the ability to take direction are essential.


HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:


• Use background plates to obtain camera and object motion in plate photography. This may include animating live action characters or relative object in the scene(rotomation)
• Models stand-in matchmove geometry used by Animators and Technical Directors
• Does basic composites of the files with the background to judge the camera and object solves
• Works with the matchmove team to maintain continuity between shots, and troubleshoot problem shots
• Under the direction of the project Supervisors, the Matchmover will setup the technical and aesthetic approaches of the matchmove work for a shot, sequence, or even an entire aspect of a show
• Other duties and responsibilities consistent with your position as may be assigned to you from time to time


THIS IS WHAT WE REQUIRE:


• At least 5 years experience with a high-level film-based camera tracking pipeline (most likely Maya/Boujou based)
• Must have experience with Boujou, PFTracks, or 3d Equalizer
• Strong understanding of on-set photography and film and how various camera rigs create camera movement in live action plates
• Fully understands an “iteration intensive” shot pipeline
• Some scripting ability in MEL and python is an advantage
• Knowledge of Maya and Nuke a plus
