SENIOR LIGHTING TD


Are you interested in working for a growing, independent, award winning studio? The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, have the ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive under pressure of tight production deadlines. They must possess excellent communication and problemsolving skills.


HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Responsible for final 3D scene assembly incorporating the illumination and rendering of all
  • 3D elements required to complete shots, as well as compositing, to ensure quality and
  • coherency of the elements generated
  • Work closely with the Lead Lighting TD, and compositors to finish selected shots so that
  • computer generated elements are seamlessly integrated with live-action plates



THIS IS WHAT WE REQUIRE:
  • At least 4 years experience with a high-level film lighting and rendering pipeline (preferably
  • Maya based)
  • Have a full understanding of the shader structure (not at scripting level), arbitrary outputs,
  • and PTC systems
  • Have a good knowledge of the physics of lights and materials
  • Thorough knowledge of RenderMan based rendering software
  • Good Generalist background
  • Fully understands an “iteration intensive” shot pipeline
  • Desire to learn from others and to take on increasingly challenging shots
  • Traditional skills as a strong artistic eye for cinematography, composition, photography and
  • high-resolution detail, as well as a good understanding of the principles of digital film
  • compositing such as multi-pass rendering for composite-based control
  • Some scripting ability in MEL and python is an advantage
