Star Field in Nuke
Hello guys, Nuke newbie here. I\'ve been trying to create a spherical star field environment for a space shot. I was able to use a noise node to generate something I was happy with. But when I tried to map it to my spheregeo the texture is stretched along the sphere so I have large blurry circles instead of specks.
So instead of this.

I get this.

The only way I could get it to look right is by changing my scanline projection type to spherical. It looks good, but its obviously not going to match my render\'s camera.
I\'m sure I am missing something obvious here. If you guys have an idea please let me know. Thanks for the help!

Strange, it almost seems like the UV\'s on your sphere aren\'t applying correctly. Try throwing a UVProject after your spheregeo with your projection type set to \"Spherical\".

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried using the uvproject node like you said and all I got was some very faint streaks.
Like this. I brightened the image so you can see the streaks better.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong with my noise node. I just thought it would be cool to generate it in nuke instead of making a texture elsewhere.

I just ended up using some 3D cards. Worked fine for what I needed.
