I'm looking for visual effect references which at first look like a photo-real environments, but when moving around it, we find it is, in fact, a 2 demensional envionment with no depth.
Any assistance in finding such references is greatly appreciated!

the only thing that comes to mind is in the end chase scene around the backlot in "jay and silent bob strike back" where they run into a painting of the street. the painting is moved, and they continue.
is that what you are looking for?[/i]

re
Everything is a visual reference :P
The thing you are looking for is pretty simple. You need to have prespective lines and lighting to match from your camera point of view. Get it?
It dependes on the camera position. So your "fake" image needs to be in line with the natural perspective of your camera. Dont know how to explain it better. Sorry :P
Hope it helps
