Z depth/depth blur Fusion/maya question
Good day DF Gurus:
I have a seq. where the maya artists renedered out a Z depth software rendered .iffs
When I bring it into DF, I am selecting the Z channel, however the inforamtion is not the same viusal grey levels as the f-checked .iff
Is there anything they can output to help this and or is there some other techniques I will need to treat this on my end. ie. rendered targas? or maybe boolean seeting on my end? or not premultiplying the alpha with the image? I've tried a bunch of things but I need additional help to produce the depth blur info. Thanks!!!

It's different in Fusion5 and DF4. In F5 there is display normalizing button that will normalize the Z values to greyscale display.
In DF4 you could use Lumakey and key from Z this will create an alpha channel that you can view
The main thing to understand when processing using depth tools like Depth Blur is Scale. Each of the depth tools has a scale set to 200 to be compatible with the scale of Max. Maya’s scale is much smaller normally, but could still be anything, normally you would set this Scale value to be, say, 5.
