Hello & compositing question
Hello,
Thanks for the great podcast.
I am looking into doing some compositing to get a similar effect seen in this BMW advert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu9ScFwy8UM.
I will be doing as much as posible in post, using particles/masking etc.
Has anyone done anything similar or have any thoughts on the process and methodology?
thanks.

Actually while I do not know first hand...
They look like the optical effects you get with a laser into a ice.
I would bet a bunch of the shots are comps of this filmed effect over live action car
Does anyone know?

most of it looks live..one can get a similar effect by pointing a laser thru prismatic glass...the rest looks like softimage!..wonder who did it ? having said that > maybe live club lights projected onto the car would give a similar result ?

DigitalAir is a facility here in Geneva/Switzerland that is well experienced with such effects (http://www.digitalair.com). Ask for Dayton Taylor, he may help you
