    Default freelance rates?

    Looking to go freelance... I have 10 years online edit exp. plus 4 years flame/inferno/smoke exp. and a good show reel. What's a fair rate in NYC? Do flame artists have day-rates or charge hourly?
    any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    4 years experience in NY for Flame would probably be $80 to $100 per hour. Some places do day rates... but I have never made out on day rates, so I try and do hourly.

    Of course these rates will vary, and often times you negotiate a little less.
