fxpodcast: Shaun Tan’s Oscar nomination for The Lost Thing

In the lead up to the 2011 Oscar weekend, we have a creative discussion with Shaun Tan, co-director of The Lost Thing which has been nominated for Best Short Animated Film. This film is an act of love, taking a small team nine years to complete.

Also nominated in this category are:

  • “Day & Night” Teddy Newton  see also our fxguidetv with Teddy from last year discussing Day & Night
  • “The Gruffalo” Jakob Schuh and Max Lang
  • “Let’s Pollute” Geefwee Boedoe
  • “The Lost Thing” Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann
  • “Madagascar, carnet de voyage (Madagascar, a Journey Diary)” Bastien Dubois

We wish all the nominees the best of luck with their films and recognize the huge creative effort required for each film. Congrats and well done from the team at fxguide.
