10 in running for VFX Oscar

The ten films in contention for this year’s visual effects Oscar have been announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The films are:

The Oscars VFX bake-off will take place on Thursday, January 19th when members of the visual effects group of the Academy will vote to bring the list to the final five nominations, to be announced on January 24th. The Oscars are to be held on February 26th.
