CVMP: November 16/17th in London

fxguide is excited to be a partner for the 8th annual Conference on Visual Media Production. The goal of the conference is to bring together post productions pros with imaging and graphics researchers. The conference has grown since its inception and again this year there are some outstanding presentations.

To register for the event, visit the CVMP web site. Admission to the two day conference is £350 and fxphd October term members are able to get £100 off (see fxphd.com for details).

The conference will be held in London on November 16th and 17th at the British Film Institute Southbank. The event has a decided technical and scientific flavor, intended to show some of the latest image processing research that is being adopted in production — or that will be adopted in future projects. Similar to the papers at the venerable SIGGRAPH conference, it’s a great way to peek into the future and see what might be adpoted in actual pipelines in films, games, and other media.

Scheduled speakers include:

  1. Peter Centen, Grass Valley
  2. Sylvain Paris, Adobe
  3. Nicola Hoyle, DNeg
  4. Jeremy Doig, Google
  5. Roberto Cipolla, Cambridge
  6. Thorsten Herfet, IVCI
  7. Jordi Bares, The Mill
  8. Damien Fagnou, MPC
  9. Ronald Fischer, Universal Studios

For a rundown of the presentations at the conference, see the Programme page on the CVMP web site.
