News from E3: new games, Minecraft HoloLens + more

There’s a ton of new games and announcements happening right now at E3 2015 – here’s just a few that caught our eye at fxguide.

We’ve seen glimpses of what Microsoft’s HoloLens can do in the VR/AR/MR space. Now at E3, Microsoft has demo’d how it can be used to play the insanely popular Minecraft, viewing it in 3D through the glasses and controlling action by voice and hand commands. It’s worth noting, however, that this still seemed like a ‘presentation’ rather than the real thing just yet.

On fxguide we’ve been lucky enough to cover Ubisoft’s work on many of the incarnations of Assassin’s Creed. The latest adventure is Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, which at E3 premiered with a gameplay walkthrough and a cinematic trailer.

Another Ubisoft game we’ll be keeping an eye on is For Honor, a fighting game featuring Knights, Vikings and even Samurai.

Star Wars fan, anyone? E3 also saw the unveiling of five minutes of ‘Walker Assault’ gameplay footage from Star Wars Battlefront, which comes out in November.
