The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® on Sunday March 2nd, 2014 at 4pm Pacific time. The telecast will be helmed by Director Hamish Hamilton (who has also been tapped to direct the 2014 Super Bowl halftime show featuring Bruno Mars). In the US the show will be on the ABC Television Network and will also be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
As we celebrate the creative best of 2013 there are many business issues that challenge the visual effects industry. Last year almost 500 visual effects artists gathered before the Oscars on Hollywood Blvd. to raise awareness. Planning is underway for what organizers hope is an even larger event this year. A Facebook page has been started to share information about those plans: facebook.com/events/1411561172415016/
Very tough year to pick the nominations. Though I am very surprised that Pacific Rim was not in the final nominations. Congrats to all the nominees!
