Hello everyone,
I will be working on a couple of vfx shots next month and wanted to get some ideas on how to go about it. Apparently, these shots have been done before but the client did not like the results and now they look to me to help them resolve the issue. So basically its a female with a rain cloud over her head constantly raining on top of her, the catch is that they have already shot footage and she is as dry as the desert. My question is what would be the best way to comp this shot? I’m thinking of creating a rain pass, cloud pass, yada yada passes and comp it in shake. Has anyone had any experience with a similar situation?
I was also thinking of color correcting her to a grey scale and use that as a sort of specular map and displacement map for the rain to bounce off of. I’m open to any ideas or any previous experiences similar to my situation. I know on there part having her wet would of been the best thing to do, I’m kind of picking up were the last vfx artist left.
Cheers,
A~
