Hello fellow wizs! long time…
it comes time in all of use “creative people” to deal with some sirius technical problems, so I found myself in such time…
I am trying to archive a Flame HD project (1920*1080 50i) to a HD cassette.
I have already done the following:
1. project setting are set to 1920*1080 50i.
2. VTR set to 50i.
3. 50i blacked HD tape.
4. The Aja graphic card is connected directly to the HD deck, input and output.
5. the device option in the engineering of the archive in Flame is set to: HD D5 50i (4:2:2)
Other details:
* the cassette type is : BCT – 40HD 60i HDCAM
* the Flame version is 2009 SP1.I read in the manual that everything has to be the same setting. and so I did it in every way possible. but still the flame can’t manage to do the archive. it does start the procedure and even shows the first slate. but then it stops.
it shows different error messeges such as:
– “can not write header to tape, use OTOC when opening next”
– “Error compering restored data on verify”To conclude! – HELP me I am dieing here!

The horizontal pre-filtering from 1920 to 1440 samples of luma done by HDCAM compression destroys the black&white data pattern used by Flame archiving. Setting the token to HDCAM uses a different “data as picture” encoding scheme which survives this pre-filtering.

I will pass it to my technical manager, but still if someone else have any idea, I will appreciate more suggestions!
thanks!
