Hi i’m an Australian compositor who has been working in the UK for a couple of years and am soon to return to the motherland. I’m wondering if there were any new (ish) resources for compositing job hunting (Flint/Smoke/Combustion/AE). Would really appreciate any input!
February 15, 2006 at 7:07 pm #212002AnonymousGuestYes Muse recruitment – talk to Teressa.
They have a whole new web thing happening soon… I know they need good Combustion people ASAP.
Tell her I suggested calling +syd 0425 259515
They place people internationally at top facilities world wide – but she is your best line at a job in Sydney.

i know it’s a bit long is a piece of string question – but do you think there is enough work to survive freelancing in sydney? i’ve become accostumed to london where there’s more work than you can poke a stick at, and though i’d love to freelance in sydney; am not sure if there’s a lot of demand for freelancers…
cheers

Depends what your skill set is like.. and what boxes you drive
so NO if you use quantel
not a lot if your Combustion
but if your a wizz on Shake – you’ll be booked outmike

I’m trying to contact Muse from here in Thailand and I keep getting a “no longer working”, “unavailable” or “does not exist” message. Am I missing something in your +syd ??
I’m dialing 008-61(country code)-2(city code)-0425-259515.
as well as
008-61-0425-259515.
I can tell you one thing, it’s reaching Australia; the recorded operator is not screaming like a scalded cat 🙂

March 1, 2006 at 11:42 pm #212004AnonymousInactiveDid you manage to contact teresa at all?
Im interested in this my self and will probably give her a call today
as I’ve only ever seen 2 Combustion jobs advertised
Both were on the Gold coast, I Havent seen anybody advertise for people here in Sydney.
I’ve had one training job at an institution here in sydney, I only found out about that one as Autodesk called me and told me about it.It seems to be more AE and Shake here.
March 3, 2006 at 2:34 am #212008AnonymousInactiveNot yet. I’ve just gotten buried in a Casino launch and these two sentences are all the time I have. Let us know how it goes, good luck.
(Okay, four sentences. “No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!”)

I’d give it two thumbs up but after the fishing “incident”….. 😉
