Autodesk Flame Premium 2015 will be good alternative solution for new Nuke Studio ?
I was searching information about software and I’ve dropped on this : https://area.autodesk.com/flame2015#!/
what do you think about Flame or Nuke Studio – which better ? I think about price will be similar.October 4, 2014 at 9:26 pm #220235James SellersParticipantwell the price is not really similar, flame is roughly 10 times the price of nuke studio, however it is not only the sales price that matters. flame is more expensive but you make a lot more money out of it, so let’s talk about features. the feature set over all is very similar, i would say the main difference is that flame is build for fast results while nuke is build for more precise results. that doesn’t mean that flame can’t be precise nor that nuke can’t be fast, but that’s the genaral difference. same thing goes for rendering, flame is build to render on the same system you are working on, while nuke is build for network rendering. but same thing here, it is not that you can not network render with flame or that you can not render on a nuke box. all the tools on flame are build to work very quickly, while nuke is build to work more pecisely and more complex. so i prefer flame when working with clients coz it’s a tool that makes it possible to respond very quickly to clients ideas, while i would nuke when i know i have to deal with very complex shots that needs a lot of detail work and that are very render heavy. so imo it is not a question of better/worse, it is a question of what kind of job you are dealing with.
but when you have the budget to buy a flame, then you should have the money to buy a nuke too to have the best from both flavours.
when you don’t have the money for a flame then the question is more should you buy a nuke studio or a smoke on mac, an in that case i would clearly go with the nuke s for many reasons but thats just my personal opinion.February 18, 2015 at 11:09 am #220236AnonymousInactive@otaku 43983 wrote:

When I wrote this post I didn’t know about new Fusion, now from Blackmagic. 🙂 When Blackmagic announced Fusion, the situation on software market has changed, now I pick new Fusion 🙂 ( is for free – standard version or for nice price about 995 $ ) and the features has similar than Nuke and Flame. From Blackmagic Fusion got good color correction too 🙂
