Flame 2008
In batch every time you create a new setup, flame creates a folder with exactly the same name. Is there a way to shut this off. We create our own folder for organization, and they become very hard to find amongst the hundred of useless folders that flame auto-creates.
Thanks
DavidSeptember 11, 2008 at 10:02 pm #217164RamazanParticipantha! we have been talking about this just yesterday. It really creates confusion. hope you can switch it off!

September 24, 2008 at 8:57 pm #217165RamazanParticipantahhh i think i misread the post….what bothers me and causes us confusion is that when you go to load/save a batch setup you now get a list on the left which contains folders AND any setups saved in ……/batch/ and on the right you get a list which also contains the same setups. It used to be that the left list just listed folders and the right just setups…Is there anyway to go back to this.

“When you go to the Load or Save setup screen in batch, you only see a
single entry in the file browser for each setup you saved. But under
the covers, Batch saves a separate file (and sometimes several files)
for every node in your setup. So it is not unusual for a single “save”
to end up creating more than a hundred files. So if you are saving
lots of revisions to a setup, you can end up with thousands of files
in that directory: typically, you don’t want to have too many files in
the same folder, as it tends to slow down the system. That’s why 2008
creates a separate folder for each save to avoid ending up with
thousands of files in the same folder.”I guess it would fall into a performance modification.
JF used to work for Discreet and helped develop flame, he’s the man, hopefully this shines some light on why it happens. (Sorry, have no idea on how to stop flame from doing it)

September 25, 2008 at 5:42 am #217166Saran SirikasamsapParticipanti tot its quite cool cos the setups are saved nicely inside individual folders..and yes they do add up..for a toyota spot i did last month, batch setups fer 20 shots = 16,000+ files
