Best way to shoot this VFX shot?

Hi,

I’m fairly new to VFX and have a shot that’s more complicated than I’ve done before.

The shot I’m working on (pre-shoot) includes a ‘priest’ standing in front of a large curtain.
The curtain rips from top to bottom and the priest falls to his knees.
The curtain reveals a bright light, which ‘streams’ (volumetric) into the room and ‘lights’ the Priest.

We are wanting to do a ‘virtual’ push in (truck) move in post.

Trying to figure out the best way to approach shooting this.

We’re wanting to backlight it so we don’t have to create a lot of detail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
