    Hi again,

My station is almost finished. One thing I am missing is broadcast monitor.
What do you guys suggest. going old school – CRT monitor for viewing colors etc, or buy LCD – something like

    http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=97137&surfModel=BT-LH2600W

I’m a bit worried about the LCD since I’ve never worked with them as my color / final image reference. There is no real interlace on them so i wont be able to see if I need to blur the txt small detail a bit so they wont shake etc.

We do mostly SD stuff but more and more jobs are coming in HD. Thats the reason for my dilemma.

What is you’re experience with broadcast LCDs ?

    thanks in advance

For SD, stick with a good Sony CRT with SPMTE-C phosphors, like the PVM-20L5 or BVM series.

Sony HD CRTs are great, but expensive and hard to find. If you need full-pixel resolution, you’ll need to go with an LCD. Avoid Sony’s LCDs like the plague – they are awful. The best LCDs are currently from TVlogic and eCinema, but they are fairly expensive. Panasonic and JVC make decent lower cost LCDs, but they don’t have the color accuracy or black levels of the TV Logic or eCinema.
