Bugs/trouble in 2.1

We recently purchased Combustion 2.1 for Mac and are running it in OSX 10.2.4.
When using the particles editor, I am encountering a number of bugs and glitches that halt progression completely.

-Changing the color of particles – Color picker pops up and does nothing. Often results in complete freeze of the program.

-Playback/preview of edited particles – No playback and often results in complete freeze of the program. In addition, viewports freeze indiviudally and will not update.

Basically, I cannont consistently edit particles without running into a freeze of some kind. I have tried going through the operations in OS 9 as well and had the same problems. Does anyone have any information on this problem….is it a known bug? Is there an update for this issue? should I avoid certain operating systems?

I’m stuck on this problem and not sure what to do about it.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Hi,

In the particles operator try turning off “preserve Alpha”. I have found this does help.

I would also suggest possibly going back to 10.2.3 because it is reported to be more stable the 10.2.4 for the meantime.
