c4 Mac issues ?!?!

Hi all,
Just had a call from a client who just installed c4 for Mac with the following complaints:

The tracker and grain management tools do not work with 10bit material, they appear to work ok with 8bit though.
He can’t find the diamond keyer anywhere !

I dont have access to a Mac right now so I dont want to call these “bugs”, it might just be “finger trouble” on the users side. Anybody else encountered similar problems ?

Sounds like finger trouble to me…

The Diamond Keyer is located in the Operators tab under Keying.

I have experienced no problems tracking 10-bit material. Haven’t tried grain mgt.

(OS X v10.4.4, QuickTime 7.0.4, dual 2GHz G5, 2.5GB RAM, Blackmagic Decklink)

Is your client an experienced Combustion user or a newbie?

Hi Zolo,
In this case the user is a serious power user so can’t blame that. It was an upgrade from c3 so something may have gone south during the install which might explain the missing diamond keyer. discreet support in London confirmed their c4 Mac tracker is also not working with 10 bit material. If yours is fine, it might be a PAL/NTSC issue but I doubt it.
Standards are wonderful, that’s why we have so many of them 😀
