hello
we need to bring in camera data into toxik.
the easiest solution is to use the .ma file. but what to do when you have no licence for maya?
is there a way to import this tracking data without purchasing a licence for maya?
I heard in fxphd that it is possible? Any ideas how to do it?
thank you in advance.

as far as i know you will need a maya lic. cause the importer script is launching maya for some tasks. even when it´s only seconds.

it doesn’t have to be like that, isn’t it?

actual the 3d dep. works with c4d.
I try to get it to work with a 30day trial or something. cross fingers for me;-)
Budget matters always and it’s hard for me to explain to the producer that we need to spend 3500€ extra just to get a camera into the app.I hope that there will be a direct export for toxik once.

michaelAugust 7, 2008 at 12:57 am #217080chrisParticipanti know syntheyes (3d tracker) writes out a gazillion camera formats and toxik is one of them. the toxik project format can be opened in a in a text editor so technically you dont need maya to get a camera into it. ive pased cameras from 3ds max and syntheyes to toxk in the past. its not bound to just may by any means

August 8, 2008 at 8:52 am #217082summerJParticipantbut i guess you don´t get “real” 3d information out of it. you get some 2d racking info. but havn´t looked at it for quite time. perhaps things changed.

From the website of Syntheyes I downloaded a toxik export file; a pyton script.http://www.ssontech.com/download.htm#Sample%20Export%20Files
when I run this script inside toxik it won’t work. It terminates with an error msg.
Where do I have to run this script?
The downloaded pyton scripts seams to be 2 years old – is it made for the 2007 version of toxik?
thank you for your help
MichaelAugust 11, 2008 at 8:46 am #217081summerJParticipanton which version of toxik are you? the general structure and specialy the structure of reaction is changing thru the version quite drastically. so if the script was designed for 2007 it is quite sure that i wont run with a newer version. also the way of 2d tracking/stabilization has changed. the general structure of txk is still wip. perhaps they found it with 2009. 😉

we are using the most recent version (2008 sp1 ext 1). I hope in version 2009 we will see a easyer and cheaper way to get the data in.
Best thing would be when the 3d-tracker from flame is available in toxik to;-)
