Hi Guys,
Quick question:
Can you import 3D models into Nuke, as per this picture:
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s91/melonrecords/nuke4.jpgIf not, then I presume the model is rendered out as images, then composed into Nuke, but what if the angles are not right between the model and background, do they re-render the model several times so they get it right?
I understand that they will render the model out in different layers/composites/channels, but they still only have one perspective.
Thanks for your help.
Will.

you could bring that geometry into Nuke and animate it as it is rigid and has no shape animation, the tricky part would be getting the shadows/lighting/shaders right in Nuke (at least until this Katana thing comes in). So its easier to do it in a 3d app like you say. In terms of perspective, look it up, its called matchmoving. you have to render for the correct perspective, and so re-render for every shot. It sounds like you are relatively new to VFX I would suggest you get yourself a good book which goes through the process and then come here and get answers to more specific questions.

You can import OBJ’s, and texture them with a normal read node.
Import them via a ReadGio node.
Thanks.
