Hi all-
I just got a combustion system running on a Mac g4 with 2, 1 gig processors, gig and a half of ram.
The problem I have is that when I try to copy and paste a layer, operator or footage it simply does not do it.
Any ideas why?
Thanks,
Brian

For Layers, make sure you are working on the WORKSPACE TAB….(not the timeline.) There, you should be able to create a copy of a layer by simply selecting the layer and “Command/Ctrl C” then “Command/Ctrl V” in order to create a new copy of the footage. Each copy made will appear in the footage library.
As for making an instance of a layer and the operators relevant to the layer (including footage), use the New Layer from Operator instead of copy/paste. This command doesn’t have a quick keyboard shortcut such as copy/paste. It can therefore be more time consuming to make many instances.
Again, simply put:
To copy a layer to another composite >
STEP 1) Select the layer, and do one of the following:
Right-click or Ctrl-click (Macintosh) and choose Copy from the context menu.
Choose Edit | Copy, or press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Macintosh).
Note: To select multiple layers, Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Macintosh) each layer or drag a selection box around the layers in the Timeline or Workspace panel.STEP 2) Select the composite into which you want to paste the layer, and do one of the following:
Right-click or Ctrl-click (Macintosh) and choose Paste from the context menu.
Choose Edit | Paste, or press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Macintosh).
The layer is copied to the new location.Lastly, if you want to duplicate a layer > Select the layer and do one of the following:
Right-click or Ctrl-click (Macintosh) and choose Duplicate from the context menu.
Choose Edit |Duplicate, or press Ctrl+Alt+D (Windows) or Command+Option+D (Macintosh).
A copy of the layer is created in the composite.keep combustin’
