Hi,
I am looking for a way to capture a single clip from a tape source, and for Flame to also capture the changing timecode on the tape. For example, a film transfer tape often has TC jumps with each new clip. I want to digitize the entire tape, and record the timecode as it appears on the tape, in a single capture.
Right now, Flame assigns ascending TC from the in-point, ignoring breaks in timecode on the tape.Any ideas anyone?
thanks

Years ago I asked for a tape analyze mode that would scan the tape and build a database of what timecode is on the tape and build an internal database of the contents to enhance working with an EDL or a situation like this. Unfortunately years later every system made treats tape machines like foreign objects even though attached to a computer that could help.

I was afraid it wasn’t possible. It is annoying that Flame’s interest in Timecode ceases as soon as it begins to record. Makes it difficult to work sometimes with transfers, particularly from Spectre that have minimal head and tail trim, and the TC jumps every other minute.
Anyone out there think they can write a bit of code that will capture timecode along with picture?
I would buy it.Thanks
