Chemical Brothers

Here’s one for the “anoraks” out there. (“Anorak” being English slang for people who have an enormous appetite for trivia 😀 )

There was a music video for a Chemical Brothers song that I thought was awesome, but can’t remember the title of the song. (It also appeared on the Discreet showreel one year)

It was primarily about a day in the life of this girl who worked behind a cosmetics counter in a mall. From waking up to going to sleep. But there really amazing forced perspective shots, corner pinning etc. In one sequence it appears like it’s just her in the shot, then the camera moves to reveal 6 or 7 girls in identical outfits performing the same actions.

Anybody who’s seen this video will know what I’m talking about, the rest of you must think I’m nuts.

If I could find the name of the track I reckon it would be worth the price of the DVD if it’s available.

Thats exactly it ! We’ve got really limited bandwidth down here, so couldn’t view the clip, but the singles DVD is available locally. Guess where I’ll be on Saturday morning 🙂

Michael Gondry did that music video. You can buy a DVD with a lot of works done for that director (for me one of the best directors) . This DVD includes that video.

Does anybody know the name of the Chemical Brothers video where there’s this girl swimming with a whale and also there’s is very cool scene where her hand dissolves in to smoke, its really cool ! ,. I only got to see it twice a few years ago, ..like to see it again.

the gondry dvd is wicked…but even better is an old daft punk music video dvd…in the special features it has a documentary with michel gondry in a classroom explaining how he comes up with those wild concepts…let forever be is there on BUF’s webpage in their gallery.
