Hi Everyone!
Thought I should drop a note, and say Hi!
I’ve just released v2.5.10 of the Cineon/DPX QuickTime Components. Give them a try! Existing v2.5.x users can update themselves to this new version for free. Earlier users will need to upgrade their software.
New for this release, is the ability to crank out “Proxy-Sized” DPX frames. These new, smaller frames can have a copy of the larger DPX frame’s header. This allows you to keep Time Code, meta data, shot notes, etc.. available, when editing with the smaller images.
With Final Cut Pro, this is especially good, as you can edit a complete DPX based project, with 720×405 (for example) DPX frames. Frames of this size can easily play on G5 Workstations, and Intel Based Laptops. Once the project is complete, you can simply re-connect to the larger frames, using Media Manger, and have an “Online” project. All while still working with the same file names, time code, and reelnames.
Also DPX frames are now viewable as a preview in Leopard. It is especially cool to see with coverflow.
Post any questions you may have!
