i was wondering if some of you flame masters could layout a good workflow
for importing cineon log files into flame and use them in a visual effects
pipeline.here are my main questions:
when you import .cin to your desktop do you linearize them upon import
or do you apply a viewer LUT and keep them log ?
what is the recommended procedure for color correction ?i am using shake currently and what we normally do is apply a LOGLIN node
before any color correction and then once we render out our final we attach
another LOGLIN to restore the image to log for filmout.i would like to find out how you tackle such basic workflow on FFI ?
also i am quite confused by the LUT editor node in batch.
can you shed some light on the use of that ?thanks

Size wise 12bit is smaller than 12bit upacked but is harder on through put and memory. In terms of LUTs it pretty much the same as Paul says however I find that if you are going to use a Print LUT (i.e. filmlook) it is best to return the images to Log before doing this as you will get the more classic s-gamma curveon viewing the images
