Would like to know if anyone has a technique for color correcting a caucasian person to look African American? If so please list any ideas, tricks, or tips. Much appreciated!

March 24, 2008 at 9:26 am #216685Saran SirikasamsapParticipantthe test i did fer my client was simple..one color correct / warper to neutralize the colors as in balance them out cos i was working with a stylized FG from TK, then another CW to isolate the skintone, generate a matte, either change the color in the warper [ depending on the quality of the source ] or use a combo logic ops and CW…depending on the amount of separation u may or may not have to rotoscope..worked quite well..the main issues i guess would be talents wardrobe and hair. 🙂

Did you handle it in CW or did you have to work with masks?March 24, 2008 at 5:12 pm #216683Martin FurnessParticipantRohit, got your pict. thanks sir, looks just like one of the tests that I did. It really depends on the complection of the person. There are so many diff. types of skin tones, each one is so diff. Ill post up some examples of what I did and the final as well for comparison.
March 25, 2008 at 2:23 am #216686Saran SirikasamsapParticipantdepending on the skin tone and the lighting of the shot…the cw has 3 selectives remember..and i used multiple cws in batch…depending on the shot u may or may not have to use masks..a lot depends on the source material.. and highlights can be keyed back in
