Hello, I have just discovered a bit of a quirk running C4 on my Vista laptop. I have created a few new projects & rendered test footage out to the default directory (C:Program Filesdiscreetcombustion 4) not thinking!!!
Now I can view the resulting renders using combustions open command & can view their thumbnails in the combustions open browser. I can load these into C4’s work space so I know that the footage is there. I can not however navigate to the directory & see these files in there anywhere using Vista. They are not visible, where are they? All of the install files & folders are visible. I have also used the built in search function in vista to located these files & it comes up empty searching both via file name & size.
Any help on what I am overlooking here would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I have gone to the folder properties & the “Show hidden files an folders” is selected & still no files are showing in the Combustion 4 folder. I created a folder via the open window command & the folder that I created shows, but still no Mov, Tiff or Targa Sequences are there.
Any other suggestions?

Also, have you done a simple search for your files, just in case they’re not where you think they are? It happens.

Search showed nothing. I also created 2 new folders in the directory. These show in Combustion but not to Vista.
I have managed a work around to move the files using the media explorer in Sony Vegas Pro. I had to created a new folder on my desktop & dragged the files out of the C4 directory into the desktop folder. Vegas could also see all of the files & the newly created folders.
Very Odd. I would be curious if this is a bug with C4 running on Vista?
