Currently, I am employed but I am thinking about seeking a new position. I want to focus my search on companies in the continental US that are using FFI in their workflow. Searching “flame, inferno, discreet, US” on the net yields negligible results. I have resorted to perusing fx and MoGraphic sites in hopes of spotting a few, but that’s like picking cotton with a pair of tweezers.
Is there a way to get a list of company names that currently own FFI? I
want to market myself as a flame* artist, but if a company doesn’t use
it I just waste reels. I don’t want to contact my local resellers as
they know my boss, and it’s a small town, and I was given an email to a
“regional(?)” rep by Discreet sales, but he has yet to respond. Would
this info not be readily available?Thanks in advance,

just go to the discreet site and watch the demo reels. the credits list at the end of each is essentially a monster list of ‘who is doing what’.
If you’re going to NAB, then attending the fxguide event on April 17th would put you in touch with a fair number of IFF users. Otherwise just hang around the Discreet booth and see who the sales guys are “schmoozing” ! 😀

One other suggestion. Do a Google search using “directory flame post production” . It’s not brilliant, but there are quite a few online directories of post houses etc. Any of them with flame invariably list it in their equipment line up.
Don’t bother with “directory discreet post”, it’s amazing how many companies are prepared to “post” you something in “discreet” packaging 😀TW.
