i was wondering if anybody knew of a tutorial of how to use rotoscoping to make the lightsaber effect used in star wars, preferably using after effects
There’s actually a really good breakdown of how ILM built the lightsabre effects in Ron Brinkmans “Art and Science of Digital Compositing”, Second edition. Look at the very detailed SW Ep3 “Revenge of the Sith” breakdowns further in the book. Highly recommended reading for anyone into comping and effects!
