Hi,
First I would like to apologize for my bad english. I’m french and even if i do my best not to kill shakespeares languages, I’m sure that i make lot of errors.
I’m self-taught in vfx and actually, I try to understand what is the differnce between a linear color space and a logarithmic color space.
I take some days to find some docs or explanations on the web, but I did not find anything helping me.
Is it someone could steer me towards precise documentation or help me to understand ?
Thank you very much.

have a look on these:
http://cinespace.rsrhq.com/docs/ColourManagement.pdf
http://www.fxguide.com/modules.php?name=fxtips&rop=showcontent&id=250
and i definitely recommend ron brinkman’s book as well.
pH
PS: don’t be confused, video with (logarithmic) gamma counts linear

I’ll work on this docs, and maybe I’ll come back if there is something that I do not understand.
Thank again !February 17, 2009 at 10:28 am #217558Enrie EstevezParticipantHi again,
I see all this links and even if I still cannot answer some of my questions, I learn a lot about LUTs.
Now i’d like to make tutos, but i can’t find anywhere on the web or the kodak site a cineon files that I could use to train.
I dl some of them, but it seems doesn’t work.
Where can I find some ?Thanks !
