Howdy!
I’m busy overhauling our network, and would like to know some details of how to set up a portion in such a manner that I can centralize my resources onto a seperate dedicated server.
I’m connecting Flame, Smoke, Combustion & 3D Max & Maya onto a seperate 1000Mb/s network.
I want all of these systems to connect to a central server so they can share resources, such as media & plug-ins, as well as having this server handling the bulk of rendering to free up resources on my clients, so they can go on with work while renedering’s happeing elsewhere. Whatever it can’t handle on it’s own, I want this server to delegate jobs off to various smaller machines around the office that are idle, maybe using something like Burn.What I need to know is what is my infrastructure requirements? Where can I find technical docs to help me?
