Hi..!!
I have this problem. On my reel I have a clip. On my system drive I have the EDL.I go to EDL and load the list, no problem. How do I get the clip on my reel cut using the EDL?
I have checked the manual, but couldnt really find it.
Anyone…???

If its Digibeta you should not losse to much quality on the clip. If not there might be another way… let me check it first and write back after I do it…

EDL with the source clip from the EDL on my desktop.
In the EDL under each clip in YELLOW is reads “FROM CLIP NAME:OPEN” Where OPEN is the name of my source slip. It says that all of my clips are captured. Make sure that the YELLOW text on your EDL has the same name as your source clip or I do not think it will work. Let me if this does not work for you and I will look into more.

Load your EDL
Click Assemble
Find the libary where it assemble your edit (It will be all black clips)
Save your Source clip inside the reel the assemble created (It has to be inside the reel to work.)
Go back to EDL and Assemble again this time it should make your EDL work.
There hehe that should do it right.

1: Load your EDL
2: Click Assemble
3: Find the libary where it assemble your edit (It will be all black clips)After this i cant get it to work.
I have my clip in this library along with the all black clip. But cant get it to use my clip… Does it need special name or?

May 3, 2006 at 8:38 pm #213082Victor MakaliParticipantThe Reel should be named what ever you EDL name is. And you source clip should be in this reel or it will not work. Not just in the same library but also in the same reel.
May 3, 2006 at 9:25 pm #213076KarlParticipantOk, here is what im doing. I have named my clip “video_edl” My EDL is named “video_EDL” My Library is called “Video_EDL” and finally my reel is named “video_edl”
I get the all black clip when i try to follow your guide lines, but thats it. Whatever I do gives me the same result.
What can I be doing wrong….
