    hi guys,

this question is bugging me for a while. in case i wanna export a keyed image sequence out of batch (MK) to another system (let’s say combustion) for further editing. what’s the best lossless pipeline to get images + alpha channel out of the system. is there any reason not to use the embedded alpha channel like tiff or tga files? are there any advantages-disadvantages of using embedded alpha channels? do i have to bother about premultiplied soft edges?

ps: i’m working in SD resolution

    hi,

qualitywise theres no reason, why you shouldnt export rgba tiffs/tgas.

not/premultiplied rgb is depending on where you pick the rgb source from your batch tree.

    hope this helps

I dont think FFI supports premultiplied alpha channel for export. You will have to export alpha seperately and use set matte operator in combustion. But it does not cause any loss of data for edges. I do not know if the newer versions support premultipiled alpha.
