Hi guys I really enjoy this site and all the podcasts. Very cool, yet helpful stugg we have going here. I have a quick question. Im getting ready to render out a comp in AECS3 but am wondering what my best settings should be for HD. It’s a title sequence for a short film I’m doing. I don’t want it to lose any quality seeing that once it’s in Final Cut, eventually it’s going to get compressed again. Thanks everyone
You can try this. Render out a master image sequence 1920×1080 SGI seq.
From this you create quicktimes instead of re rendering the comp.
Now you can render a hi res QT in animatin codec.
Import this into FCP. FCP than u will need to render this file in the time line to view in real time.
You have a hires quicktime and a hi res sgi seq. You can render proxies from these.
I would also consider exporting from AE in a YUV quicktime format for use in Final Cut Pro. This is because you can render in higher quality YUV in FCP only if all the material in your sequence is YUV. Once you add an RGB item into the timeline, the rendering will end up being done in RGB.
