I’ve just installed Cleaner XL 1.5 with backburner 3.0 to my pc, but I can’t seem to get it to talk to Smoke V7 linux. If I try to export a video clip as a windows media file Smoke says ‘failed to connect to backburner manager’

I’ve have changed the sub net mask and even have a connection but still smoke can’t see it

    any suggestions?

Make sure that Cleaner see’s your Smokes IP. Very important that the IP is right. You have to configure your PC/Cleaner to coordinate with your Smoke. I do know I had the same problem when my IP changed on my PC and when I changed it in the configure of Cleaner then it worked fine.

    First open a smoke shell
    type dlcfg
At the bottom of the file,be shure to unpound the 2 backburner lines
put the name of the pc (or IP) after backburner manager hostname
    Dont forget to remove the

Also in the init.cfg , you need to specify a path that exist on the pc like c:/tmp

also, be shure you can ping the pc from the smoke and smoke from the pc

also, be shure that firewall is turned off on the pc 😉
