FCP 4.5 Pro Letterbox

Hi erverybody,

do someone know, if it is possible to put a letterbox over a seq while playing out without rendering? And if it is possible, how? 🙂

Sorry, my FCP is in French…
but the effect “ecran 16/9” in “cache” family make a letterbox in real time on uncompressed SD footage
I’ve got a biproc G5 with Firewire800 storage

hi,
u can put a letterbox fx using matte in the fx menu.
u dont need to render but of course depend on what is your station configuration.

in the effect menu, in video effect, there’s an effect family called in french “cache”, it could be “matte” in english i think, and here there’s an effect called “ecran 16/9” in french, could be “widescreen” or “16/9 screen” in english. It’s a real time effect (i ‘ve just tried it on an old G4, works great), and you can choose the ratio of your picture, either 1.66 ,1.77 etc etc etc…
