field merging interlaced video clips

does anyone know the best way to field merge an interlaced clip without effecting the motion

I’ve tried field merge, de-interlace and deal, saphire field remove and logic ops but all of these seem to make any fast camera motion too blured

The project is set up as field 1 pal on V7 linux and im limited to saphire sparks

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

hi,

deinterlace definitely gives youthe least blur, as its half of the time & information …
the best results i had was blending field2 (deinterlace w interpolation) onto field1 (no interpolation)

for using less framestore you can set it up as a 2 layer timeline with a fieldbased TW / repeat2

still – it will not look as beeing shot on film ….
