Hi,
When importing image files from out server into Flame 2010 we get a “read permission denied” error. We can however import EDL’s from the same folder with the same permissions. Our IT guy is not keen on give world permissions to everything (as IT guys are prone to do).
The flame access data on an nfs share, where the (local) flame user gets mapped to a user in our LDAP tree that makes sense on a system wide basis, via the nfs options all_squash,anonuid=1508,anongid=500. When you try pulling in data from the flame software itself, you get a permissions denied error. However, if you copy/move/edit the file as the flame user from the command line, it works as expected, indicating that you do have both read and write permissions on the file. If you make the file world readable on the server, the permissions problem for the flame software goes away. This exact setup used to work fine in the 2009 version of the software.
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks

In the past Flame needed root read and write permission to any file. With 2010 I believe that changed slightly in that you could indeed import images as Flame user.
Was this a background or foreground import as they are called differently within Flame and use different (in the past) permission requirements.
Why did you not setup Flame 2010 with UID/GID which makes sense in your LDAP setup instead of having to map your current UID to something else??
Regards
